If your tube of the rock slider is wet or muddy, it will be ridiculously slippery. Some makers have included diamondplate or expanded metal to provide you with better traction. It's also possible to use spray-on rubber coatings or friction tape on the upper aspect of your slider to keep by yourself from slipping in to the mud pit you’re caught in
